Best-in-class Radio

In NLoS environments, signal attenuation is a constant and particularly difficult problem to solve. Natural or man-made obstacles in the path typically reduce the signal to 1/1000th of a normal LoS signal. Signals will arrive either by diffraction around an object, reflection off objects to the side of the obstruction or by penetrating the obstruction. All of these weaken the signal substantially.

The only way to effectively overcome attenuation is to maximize the system gain of the radio. To accomplish this, you need a high-output transmitter capable of pre-shaping signals, paired with an ultra-sensitive receiver.

With the best-in-class OS-Gemini radio, a system gain of 167dB can be achieved using 23dBi antennas, resulting in a transmitted signal that is 50,000,000,000,000,000 times greater than the required receive signal.

In free space, that’s the equivalent of having a 500-mile (800km) range. But, of course, you can always use larger antennas!
